US blocks attempts by Arab allies to fly heavy weapons directly to Kurds to fight Islamic State

The United States has blocked attempts by its Middle East allies to fly heavy weapons directly to the Kurds fighting Islamic State jihadists in Iraq, The Telegraph has learnt.
Some of America's closest allies say President Barack Obama and other Western leaders, including David Cameron, are failing to show strategic leadership over the world's gravest security crisis for decades.
They now say they are willing to "go it alone" in supplying heavy weapons to the Kurds, even if means defying the Iraqi authorities and their American backers, who demand all weapons be channelled through Baghdad.
High level officials from Gulf and other states have told this newspaper that all attempts to persuade Mr Obama of the need to arm the Kurds directly as part of more vigorous plans to take on Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (Isil) have failed. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/...State.html

All the security services are warning about possible isis attacks in the United States over the holiday weekend.
This, after a series of coordinated gruesome attacks in the last week. France, Yemen, Tunisia, Kuwait, Egypt.
No one can deny, that isis has enjoyed fantastic success under the watchful eye of Obama. His limp-wristed approach has boosted their recruiting by orders of magnitude.
We all better pray that Obama's chickens don't come home to roost; as Obama's former mentor predicted some time ago.

I agree 100% with Runkle and I have served in the Military proudly. Our society is full of greed and have zero sacrifice in them, except for the 1% of the US population that makes up the Military

I think we have been in there for 15 years now and did not or would not or could not close the deal.We need to leave and let those folks either fight each other or run. Nuclear War is never the answer. Nuclear bombs Give Peace A Chance.

------ so instead of them killing kids, your suggestion is that we go in with guns blazing and kill even more. how do you eradicate or blow them all to H without committing mass murder of innocent people? and to give the answer if they won't protect themselves, let em all die by the hands of this nation is just plain crazy talk. how old does a person need to be in your mind to protect themselves? should the toddlers be armed? new borns? as heartless as it sounds, if they won't protect themselves ... they are going to die. now that makes more sense. but to suggest this nation goes in there and "eradicates" !!!!!! The problem is people with limited minds have limited understand of what is going on. Anyone who knows anything about how the UN operates knows the UN is for all praticial perposes the United States. Second, what does climiate change have to do with some crazy people murdering children? You are beginning to sound like Sarah palin.

I agree that this is terrible, but I certainly don't agree that the United States should act as the world's police. We have neither the money nor resources to go to war with Syria.
If you want to blame the UN for not intervening, though, then I'm right there with you.
