Joe, some google results turn up forum and blog posts stating they are self insured. But I can't find anything solid due to the same reason I posted before.

IF THEY WERE SELF INSURED, HOW WOULD THAT MAKE THEM THE SECOND LARGEST PRIVATE INSURANCE COMPANY?

Joe, looking up anything on the Koch brothers and their insurance is pretty much impossible. And googling of their names and the word insurance turns up thousands of results about them supposedly funding anti-obamacare campaigns.

He claimed that they own the second largest private insurance company. Since they are the second largest privately own company in the US if they self insured that would also make them the second largest private insurance company as well. To answer this question we need to know whether they are self insured or not.

NOW IF YOU REALLY WANT TO ANSWER SOMETHING, PLEASE TELL US WHY CONGRESS DOESN'T VOTE TO OVERRIDE A PRESIDENTIAL VETO. THAT'S SOMETHING THAT YOU HAVE FAILED TO PROVE.

Joe, that could be the case. Unfortunately, sometimes I enjoy browsing whack job sites while enjoying a few drinks. Usually I do bookmark them when I find interesting claims. But I must have missed this one.

Fins In 2013, Forbes called Koch industries the second largest privately held company in the United States. Do you know if they are self insured? If so that would go along with what you were saying.

YOU DID MAKE CLAIMS TO THAT STATEMENT.
NOW ARE YOU TRYING TO LIE YOUR WAY OUT OF IT?

Obama and the a lot of Democrats screwed up by caving to Republicans to include the insurance industry. If we had been given a public option or a single payer system we would not have most of these arguements. No one should get wealthy based on the suffering of others like we have seen in decades past.

Now I can't find the link again. It was on some liberal website defending obamacare, so I'd make no claims to their accuracy of the statement claiming the kochs own insurance companies.
No, a single payer system is not the ideal solution. Your claiming it is reveals your left wing socialist bias. There are other options. One would be to penalize insurance companies for not paying medical bills sent to them by doctors and hospitals. Another would be to force them to standardize forms and paperwork so that healthcare providers don't have to hire experts that specialize only in how to invoice insurance companies and fight to get paid. There are lots of other ideas that could have been put in place. However, the left don't want to fix the problem. They want to finish killing the system.

Ideally we would have a single-payer program. I don't think either side can propose anything else that is going to leave us with a manageable, cost competitive system. But, the ACA, for its flaws, at least accomplishes a very important goal of getting insurance to people who couldn't get it because of preexisting conditions or because they could not afford it.
If there is a better plan, I would love to hear it.
