Always wear good shooters glasses. If you get hit by the shot at a distance, even though you just get stung, it can still damage your eyes.

Crypt, if you hunt large fields with multiple hunters around the field, you will get shot. I have been hit with pellets from hunters across the field on many occasions. Thankfully, bird hunting required small shot and light loads. My old shotgun sits idle now, as ghost of dead birds haunt me!

With all the inexperienced gun owners around today you may want to wear a ballistic vest.

Legally you need written permission to hunt, fish or trap on private property. Around here it's all private property.

If you could find out who owns the corn fields below the spill way off Browns Ford road and get permission from them that would be the best place. I use to take a boat down by there and see people hunting. There were a lot of birds back then. I have not been down the river in five years. IDK who owns it ask around you never know. If you offer some money people have a way of changing their mind.

Doves are sweet and gentle birds. They have no defense except flight against animal predators let alone a gun. There is no sport in it. All for a tiny morsel of flesh off of their wee little carcass?

Casdasjas, back in the day when I was a shooter, we would find the owner of the large corn fields,ask permission to hunt after he harvested; ,offer to help any way we could, and we would usually have a few placed to hunt. You might try that.
