, thanks for comment. You are right, I just don't have the interest enough to wade through all the political and religious carp from the few. I'd like some meaningful conversation but get only Kent or one of monkeys rants and just do not have the time for it. As a matter of fact, when either one shows up I just ignore their. Posts.

Kenc, nobody is complaining, we're trying to have a conversation if that is okay with you. People have a right to voice their concerns don't they? That is exactly what is being done right on this thread, if you dislike that fact or you can take your own advice go start your own thread. Maybe you dislike what is being said because you fit the into the un-named group? Or you dislike the truth which ever applies is up to you.

i will add that the "instigators" have an intended target ... not a political side at all, but particular individuals. both sides play the game every day. sadly it gets boring after a while because it's like watching 2 gangs throw spit balls at each other all day. how creative can spit ball throwing actually be? and yes, reporting it take more time than i want to invest.
it's the same posters with the same target using the same talking points.
tomorrow a new "yapping point" will present itself in the news and will be chewed on for a few days, but it's quickly forgotten when the new shiny bauble presents itself.
a good example was Sunglass Man. because i mention it, he will probably make another appearance ... but i was so bored with those daily posts. what was clever at first ended up showing the total lack of imagination by the poster. it just plain got old.

I totally agree Elmo you pretty much said it all.
My opinions are threads can be started that are very positive and will continue in a positive manner Until certain screen names show up. They're several of these screen names from both sides that do this. Nobody has to name them because Everybody knows who they are! If they would just tell the truth and Not be afraid of the negative comments that will Most certainly come in their directions for saying it! Which never fails to be the case when it's brought up!
If you mention any of those names, the replies are you just don't like them or some other negative remark.
At any rate, once those names show up, that thread or threads are no longer going to be a discussion that is reasonable. It never fails, never fails to turn negative with insults, name calling, snide, snarky remarks. Comments made originally by people trying to remain positive are turned absolutely into something the OP;s never meant. I guess they call that spinning.
From a readers stand point it seems more like trolling and trying to instigate arguments an attempt to take threads into a negative tail spin they can never recover from. People wanting to have a good debate or discussion are often times totally turned off by that type of display and they leave. These people who go un-named are really talented in hiding their instigation. Frankly I think they've either got Jason snowed or he's seen it so much he just doesn't realize what they do on a weekly basis. I am not sure which because I think personally if he saw it and he realized what they do he would stop it.
Giving Credit where Credit is Due, Jason has cracked down on that as of late. Which is welcomed by those of us who enjoy reading GoWilkes. I hope Jason considers what's being said and doesn't take offense by anything I've said because it's not my intent. I believe he tries to be fair in most cases and things like being mentioned he may just miss entirely due to the time it takes to really realize what is being done. He may feel it should be reported but the problem with that is it would take days even weeks to collect enough information he could actually see what is being done. That may appear as an excuse but it's not because you can't show one or two posts and expect anyone to actually believe what you see and read. He doesn't have time to go through every thread to see it so it remains to be a problem.

| Guitar | Why not just ignore it all together if it ruffles your feathers? If you don't read it then nobody can get upset over it, not the readers or the OP's. IMO, both sides beat the absolute **** out of the dead horses of religion and politics. I'd add neither a side is going to win the arguments and neither side is going to make a bit of difference. No offense meant towards anyone.
Truth be told, Nobody wants to see that constant name calling arguing every day on those threads either but nobody is going to tell the truth. |
i agree with most of your post. i stop by and read just about every day. some days i move on because of all the name calling and fighting. although i think most of the posters don't do it or like it ... there are a few that post for the sole purpose to instigate. after a while, it's almost a given when i read a thread title and the person that created it. and much like you say, i just move on.
