3rd Annual Recovery Rally "Together We Are Stronger"
Public Event · by Dianethompson
On Friday, September 6th from 5:30pm-9:30pm, Wilkes Recovery Revolution, Inc. is hosting our 3rd Annual Recovery Rally “Together we are stronger” in Downtown Wilkesboro at Carolina West Community Commons Wilkes Communications Pavilion to celebrate recovery and encourage individuals with substance use disorder to seek treatment and achieve a healthy, happy life. Substance use disorders can affect anyone, including people in Wilkes County. A recent study published by the Journal of American Medicine, classified 412 counties as “high-risk” and 1,485 as not “high-risk.” Among those, 41 of North Carolina’s 100 counties qualified as “high-risk” with Wilkes County being one of the 41. Our community must remain vigilant and dedicated to the recovery process by helping people address these preventable and treatable conditions, and support individuals in recovery, as well as their family members. Wilkes Recovery Revolution, Inc.’s activities are part of National Recovery Month, which is sponsored by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).
