However, here in Wilkes, we went back to school before the surrounding counties, even when we had rising numbers of cases. there must be a reason for such a decision but I can't find one.

Actually art man your wrong about that. Elementary schools went at the same time our Governor said it was ok for elementary schools to go full time. I know the county I work in had the same plan as Wilkes so they was doing the A and B schedule like Wilkes.

Each school system has the choice of having remote or in-person classes. The superintendent and school board make the decision, not the governor. The governor set it up so the systems could make the best choice based on conditions in their area. However, here in Wilkes, we went back to school before the surrounding counties, even when we had rising numbers of cases. there must be a reason for such a decision but I can't find one. Don't blame the governor for a decision he didn't make, though. Call your board members and tell them how you feel. There are many people being quarantined right now in a district other than east, so there may be many more cases in the schools than we even suspect. The health department is supposed to advise you to quarantine if you've been exposed but they're making up their own rules about what constitutes exposure. You have to be closer than 6 feet to an infected person for more than 10 minutes without a mask.

Well there are more cases at East and East middle and the Republicans still won't do anything they all need to be voted out because they are going to kill our kids and teachers

Many schools have multiple cases and they are covering them up. Letters aren't going home to warn parents when children are exposed. It's incredible. Ask your kids if any teachers are out for a week or more. They've had Covid, most likely. I know of 5 teachers at 3 schools who have had it in the last few weeks. Other counties close a school when cases occur in order to protect staff and students. What is wrong with Wilkes County? Must someone die before they get the message? I dearly hope it's not a family member of mine who dies.
