Piggy backing on @antithesis, I grow Thai peppers specifically to use as a pest repellent.

You take a few of any hot pepper, put it in a blender with a cup of water and a squirt of dish soap, and puree it. Pour it into a spray bottle, and spray any plants you want to protect.

Literally nothing will touch it! Ants, beetles, rabbits, voles, all gone.

Lowes has orange habaneros for $4.99 /lb right now, and that would probably work. Orange habaneros taste great so I hate to see them used for this, but any port in a storm, I guess You would only need a few, so the cost would be less than $1.

LOL reminds me that SAT while walking at cub creek park saw 3 groundhogs come out of a hole under one of the buildings that faces the main street. Was in back of the taco place,

Live trap from tractor supply. Cut some cantelope in about 2 inch cubes. scatter a few out side trap and put big chunk in back. Helps if you pile a a few leafy branches over trap to shade the inside.

Anything that smells strong will help. Garlic and black pepper work well, just sprinkle a bunch of it around.

Old School 1951, It is obvious that you have never stared into a pot containing the remains of last night cooked groundhog! They are about all fat!

As to keep old fatty from munching on the garden goodies, dust everything with cayenne pepper or spread a little urine soaked car litter around.

Yep, that will work good too but you will need to buy some store bought brown gravy mix. Groundhogs don't have much fat.

A smoker works good but you will still need to do something with the skin and guts.

Does anyone have a good recommendation on getting rid of groundhogs? I am just next to downtown NW and there is a big fat one menacing garden and stuff. Thank you!
