No, no he didn't. We were never not dependent on OPEC. The acronym speaks for itself. See below.
2. Biden begged OPEC to produce more oil.
So did Trump, then asked them to cut production after American oil companies started going bankrupt.
3. OPEC is doing the opposite—cutting output by 2 million barrels a day.
They did increase, then now they're increasing. Understand what that "plus" part at the end of OPEC+ means and you'll understand who benefits most.

I mean, I think we all agree ending reliance on foreign energy would be good. So why not just do both, have gas and alternative "fuels," why does it have to be one or the other? And maybe having solid options would drive innovation for both fuels...you know, real capitalism.

Many people including Biden have a long term goal of ending fossil fuel dependency, but it's nothing that will happen quickly. Back in 2020 big oil all but shut down fracking and new well starts due to low demand, and oil pricing so low they were losing millions. Fracking and tar sands oil are two of the most expensive products to collect and refine. Huge demand was also predicted, and therefore inflation was expected when the pandemic was beginning to ebb in 2021/2022. That, added to Russia's invasion of Ukraine, sanctions against Russian oil, and the Nord Stream issue have all caused the global market to tighten. OPEC will take any opportunity to increase profits, no surprise. So foxnit I have nothing to admit, other than that you've been schooled on this topic already, yet your brutish ignorance prevents you from ever admitting you are simply trolling.
