Acevedo is full of crap. Not to mention out of a job.

Those supplies were sent in 2017. I bet the residents would have liked to have had them then.

BTW the FDA says bottled water does not expire if left unopened. And even if they were afraid to drink it, couldn't it be used to wash with???

Acevedo said on Saturday that it was "insane" to imply the aid was mishandled.

Acevedo said in a statement that after the earthquake, the warehouse had been inspected by a structural engineer who "recommended emptying it due to the damage suffered after the event." According to Acevedo, the Fire Department Bureau removed and distributed aid from the warehouse to those affected by the earthquakes.

"There are still pallets of food, water, diapers, and baby formula, cots and awnings in the warehouse. At no time has it been ordered to seize or destroy those items," reads his statement.

"It is of utmost importance to emphasize that no citizen has been denied any of the items stored at the warehouse," he said. "At the moment there is no shortage of any of these articles and they are being distributed to the people who need it, this may be corroborated in the shelters and base camps."

Puerto Rico citizens fight for our country , they are US citizens.

This is the way other countries work, you have to pay the local government to help there citizens. You also have to pay the drug lords to let the supplies move through these other places.

Take Afghanistan if we gave the poor people anything, we had to pay the town elders to let us help there people.

Africa has hundreds of trucks sitting at a airport ( brand new ) rusting away because we would not pay the government to let these supply trucks give food to there people.

This kind of stuff goes on all the time. I don't understand why we keep trying.

With that said we have people here in the United States that needs help. Like if you want examples. Veterans they need all kinds of help. There sent back home cripple for life, there brains don't work correctly because of the ship they seen, they have to drive hours to go see a doctor. Those billions of dollars would have been much better spent here taking care of our own.

As singer said, Trump was right; the corruption in the government of Puerto Rico , is rampant. As someone whose parents had a home there for nearly 35 years, I attest to that fact, also. You can bloviate all you want; but the government of PR IS corrupt. Everything we sent them, depended on local bribes to get to the 'people"

Officials there are currently looking for more warehouses holding undelivered relief materials.

Why of course Tilly, there is only one warehouse in all of Puerto Rico. Why didn't everyone know about it? Never in US history has anything been mismanaged in our country.

How about shoes mush brain anti? Do hundreds of brand new pairs of shoes expire. Such a dumb excuse.

And what was Trump supposed to do mush brained anti.. go and hand it all out himself?
And if he did, and tossed a roll of paper towels to someone who needed it. the **** commies would be finding fault with that again as well.

So things such as baby diapers and cots expire?

According to the article, though, didn't Trump say that in April 2019? A full year and a half after the fact?

Regardless, the Emergency Director stated that there were only 80 pallets in the warehouse, and they had not been distributed because they had expired:

Puerto Rico is doing an investigation, and is supposed to share their findings of it tomorrow. It will be interesting to see what the actual facts are.

Side note, the US actually sent $11.2 billion in aid to Puerto Rico after Hurricane Maria, not $91 billion as Trump falsely stated:

Yes Anti, they were delivered in 2017. The Dems were highly critical of the administration saying we were not doing enough to help them recover in 2017.

Trump pointed to the aid and amount of money sent and also pointed out that the government of Puerto Rico
was wasteful and corrupt and that the aide was not getting to the people.

It is not Trump's fault the supplies were not distributed. They were obviously delivered to the warehouse and the local government knew they were there but failed their citizens. They are not a bunch of babies that the federal government needs to watch over.

Yes, Trump was right about Puerto Rico's government.

I read about this earlier, too. But singer, in what way was Trump right about something?

According to your own article, the supplied were delivered in 2017... under Trump. Yet his administration did no follow up to make sure they were distributed. So this is another very negative reflection on Trump, not positive.

That's terrible. Looks like not all corrupt officials work for the current White House.
