We have just been lucky that our generals have left civilian government alone. What could anyone do if they decided to run government?

LOL, Any officer in command can shot you if you refuse to follower an order while in combat. When you join the military, you lose all your rights. Besides, the UMCJ is just guide lines determined by a general. Rules don't matter, guns do.

Marie, generals can't have people shot for refusing to follow orders either. Anyone that has served in the military knows how the UCMJ works.

fins has never been in the military and has no idea how it works. Generals are more powerful then Presidents, senators or congress. A general will have at his command at any given time a few thousand train killers who will follow his every command. Any one who refuses, he can have shot. 99.9% of his men would do the shooting.

Fins, White House Chief of Staff is clearly qualified to comment on Vindman's job. Got denial?

However, plenty of active and retired military completely disagree with him. Yes, but they are not generals.

Well JohnBoy, based on that, then what qualifies Kelly to comment on Vindman's actions? In that case, Vindmans career has no relevance at all and he shouldn't have been posing in uniform in front of congress.
If you bothered to look into Vindman's military record, it's rather unimpressive. His combat injury was so superficial, I believe he was back on active duty the same day. And for 20 years, the lack of awards and medals he has been awarded is kind of embarrassing. He went through the motions to get the minimum requirements for things that he needed to keep his career moving. He was a desk soldier.
My point originally however, was what makes Kelly's comments of any value? The only thing that stands out is he is in the military. However, plenty of active and retired military completely disagree with him. So the whole topic is null and void.

Actually, if Drumpf ordered one of his subordinates shot at this point, who would really be surprised?

aFicIoNadoS (view profile) | Posted 8:42 am, 02/14/2020 | Shooting more people than someone else definitely makes ONeil more qualified on many matters regarding the military.
|
Since Vindman's job at the WH was not tied to the military, or shooting people, what qualifies O'Neil to speak to any of it, other than he's a Trumpette?

Guy gets a Purple Heart and he's got a desk jockey career.
Some of you would turn yourself inside out to rim Drumpf.

Vindman is a combat veteran of the Iraq War, and he served in Iraq from September 2004 to September 2005. In October 2004, he sustained an injury from a roadside bomb in Iraq, for which he received a Purple Heart. He was promoted to the rank of major in 2008, and to lieutenant colonel in September 2015.
NOW GILLIGAN, WHILE VINMAN WAS DOING THAT, JUST WHAT WERE YOU DOING?

Shooting more people than someone else definitely makes ONeil more qualified on many matters regarding the military. It especially makes him more qualified than Vindman who has been trying to play up his desk jockey career in an effort to make what he did ok. But the point, that I didn't expect you to get, is plenty of the military disagrees with Kelly and wishes he would shut his mouth.
But I don't expect the stolen valor brigade on GW to understand that
