Mikey, as I've already shown you several times, being an undocumented immigrant is a civil offense, not criminal.
Further, undocumented immigrants obviously contribute more than they cost. They pay sales tax, just like everyone else, and many have a fake SSN so that they can get a decent job. So they pay in income tax, but don't file a return for fear of being caught.
In reality, illegal immigrants pay somewhere between $90 and $140 billion in taxes:
But they don't get a refund or any government assistance, so almost all of that money is kept by the government. If they were all deported, the rest of us would have to pay more to take up the slack.
We currently have a surplus of about 7 million jobs in the US... jobs that no citizen wants. We also have an estimated 11 million illegal immigrants, taking other jobs that we don't want. So without them, we'll have a surplus of 18 million jobs. What do you think that would mean? Obviously, the farms and companies that rely on them would have no choice but to move to another country, so we lose that entire tax base, too.
A far-right study determined that the gross cost of illegal immigrants is $88 billion:
That study has been deemed as "False" because it includes the cost of ICE and the cost of their legal children, but still, let's just assume they're right.
$88 billion is still less than $90 billion, and far less than $140 billion that they pay in taxes.
Not to mention the economic impact of them helping to lower our surplus of jobs.
So Foxnose, it's not that "some on here think illegals give us more than they take from the system." It's a proven fact.
