I grew up and worked in orchard country until I went off to college. 95% of the labor was undocumented immigrants and they were the kindest and most gentile families you ever would want to meet. They didn't strike or unionize they just worked hard. It makes me sad what Trump has done to these farmers and these families.

Farm Labor ShortagesIn recent years, the number of new immigrants arriving in the country to work in agriculture has fallen by 75 percent. Rising wages indicate this has led to a major labor shortage on U.S. farms—making it difficult for many growers to stay in business or expand their operations. The workers left are also aging rapidly, meaning shortages will likely worsen as they retire. https://www.newamericanecon...riculture/

We are reaping what has been sown for decades by our government and a US corporation: On June 27, 1954, democratically elected Guatemalan president Jacobo Árbenz Guzmán was deposed in a CIA-sponsored coup to protect the profits of the United Fruit Company. Arbenz was replaced by decades of brutal U.S.-backed regimes who committed widespread torture and genocide. https://www.zinnedproject.o...n-deposed/

A majority are from Venezuela, with others from Columbia, Nicaragua and other countries. Social and political problems such as discrimination, violence, inequality, conflict, insecurity, poverty and environmental damage are just some of the challenges that are creating a human rights crisis across the region. The stark choice for thousands in Central America is to leave or risk death. They are compelled to flee their homes and risk their lives undertaking dangerous journeys, searching for a safe place to live. They often arrive only with the clothes they are wearing, traumatized and in need of urgent support. US corporations and US government policies are responsible for most of the turmoil in these countries.

Charlotte's foodbanks are in crisis mode. Low income housing in Charlotte is in crisis mode. Even the animal shelters are in crisis mode. Charlotte can't take care of needy American citizens. And the Biden regime sends thousands of migrants in without permission or even notice. WSOC can't even get answers. Nobody but the dimocratic party operates like this.
