As a recent "visitor" to the ER at Wake Forest Baptist Health-Wilkes Medical Center I can assure you there wasn't anyone laying in the hallway dying from COVID. The entire staff that participated in my care was friendly, professional, kind and thoughtful. The encouragement given to not only me but my family was outstanding. The ER physician was outstanding as well. I know they were short staffed because I asked but that did not impact my care. Luckily, my case was easily treated and I was soon discharged. I applaud our local community hospital and wish only the best for the staff.

Don't know if Wanyes Farms require shots or not. But I know Wilkes County plants don't pay that kind of wage unless they are desperate. If they deal in meats [which I don't know] bet my bottom dollar they are mandated. As far as fast food, I've never notice a shortage of workers before. Either people are dying at alarming rates from the vaccine or sick from it. KMA Antichrist why should I pooint out your stupidity over and over.

You're arguing that minimum wage jobs are having a hard time getting employees because... the hospital requires vaccines?

If anything, this presumed mass exodus from the hospital would mean that more people are looking for jobs, wouldn't it? So the issue of fast food restaurants not being able to find employees would improve. If that's not happening, then you're negating your own argument.

I got another circular in the mail this week wanting help 16.25 an hour, think it said Wayne's Farm.

Yeah, I think we all got that one Are you saying that Wayne's Farm requires vaccines that caused employees to quit?

As far as I can tell, they have 21 job openings within 60 miles of here:

I'm not sure how that justifies a county-wide mailer, but I guess they really need to fill those 21 positions!

The US unemployment is at 5.2%, though, which is identical to 2016 (pre-pandemic). So the statistics do not support your claim.

People are quitting their jobs and jabs are the main reason.

Really the bottom line is: People are quitting their jobs and jabs being mandated are the main reason. You can say part-time whatever BS you like, and they want be missed. Anyone can see there's a job shortage [bigtime]. I got another circular in the mail this week wanting help 16.25 an hour, think it said Wayne's Farm. That was starting pay and up. I'm 60 years old, lived in Wilkes all my life, never recieved anything like that. Post Office sent me one the other day needed help. 650 dollars at taco bell if you take a job. So ANTIARSE, your lies are dead in the water.

There are still 57 openings listed (7% of total jobs), no new ones since the thread began on Friday morning.

Unless someone can find a list of job openings at WRMC from last month, there's no reason to think that this is a higher or lower number than usual.

But we CAN use it to compare to the number of job openings next month, to see if it grows, shrinks, or stays the same.

What is failed to be mentioned is a few things -

1) Many of those job postings have been up for some time. Job openings through attrition. People from Wilkes can transfer to other medical areas within the group.

2) Some have left because of the knuckle chucks that refuse to get vaccinated and have over-whelmed a small hospital.

3) Some left because they don't believe in the medicine they are supposed to be practicing, so don't let the door knob hit ya.

If you don't want to wait in the ER, get vaccinated or try your local CVS Minute Clinic and see how that works for you.

The issue has come in when people have pushed the treatment side of the fight as a preventive measure. Ivermectin, hydroxychloroquin, Regeneron, and so on are meant for treatment

Who has put these treatments in the treatment side of Covids. I have not heard that one
Please name names

Said, I think where you're missing it is the vaccine is the preventive portion of the fight against it (and yes it is the only medicinal form for prevention at this point) and some of the other things you are alluding to (the "banned by MSM" comment) are for treatment side. The issue has come in when people have pushed the treatment side of the fight as a preventive measure. Ivermectin, hydroxychloroquin, Regeneron, and so on are meant for treatment.

Gascan....no one wants to "pick and choose," that is a demented train of thought (as you mentioned). But to say it's "democrats" who want that is just as disgusting.

Think - Why is the the "one-trick-pony" vaccine being the only given solution to the Covid-19 virus? Any mention of anything else is quickly banned by the MSM and social media. Alternative solutions and research are either kicked aside by the MSM and CDC. Such a push for a vaccine where the long term effects are still unknown and moreover, there is over a 99 percent survival rate for covid. The simple answer is "MONEY"

Democrats are sick puppies, they want to pick and choose who receives care at the hospital. The party of compassion, what a joke. FIRST COME FIRST SERVE ACCORDING THE SEVERITY.

On this, you and I agree. Which is why I said that the whole concept is hyperbole.

Although there's no denying that some people take hyperbole to heart, pmoore's definitely right about that!

Antithesis,
"Would you argue that the doctors should treat the drunk driver and risk losing a patient that was just an innocent victim?"

I expect the EMS folks, the Nurses and Doctors and everyone else responsible for anyone's health care to treat each and every patient based on each person's medical needs using accepted triage and viability criteria to determine which patient(s) get what care…not who is "innocent" or not.
