No one should be drinking diet drinks or using artificial sweeteners

I fail to understand why people keep saying this.

The body of evidence suggests this simply isn't so.

I'm not sure what "body of evidence" you are referring to... But these ARTIFICIAL products are not what nature intended for our bodies to digest. But go ahead and have at it, if you so choose.

steroids always will drive blood glucose levels up. I have been a diabetic since 1979. no major problems, sugar was good from 1979 until 1989, and have been bad at getting it back under control.

a good doctor is hard to find, I have gone through a bunch of them. I was in a dr's office, not going to say where, but when I left the office and checked, my Blood glucose was 35... went back in, told them they all missed it and never went back. Diabetes is tough... I know the bad that can happen. I thank my wife for keeping me going/visiting dr's, but it is hard for me to control. Yes you have to count carbs, watch drinks, etc, but it is hard. In my profession, I do not know what I am doing 5 minutes, let alone 2 hours from when I take or adjust my insulin levels.

Hang in there.

Steroids will OPTIMIZE the transfer of proteins and carbohydrates in your system. If they are not in your system, the steroids will make you unbearably hungry. Be careful

Any kind of steroid will run your blood sugar way up. If you're taking Prednisone then that is whats doing it, not diet drinks.

My husband is diabetic and when he had bronchitis a few years the prednisone made it go up. They did tell him ahead of time so he could adjust his insulin. Hope you're feeling better!

You might try using some Texas Pete on your food every day. Heard about a guy who was controlling his diabetes with that. Also stop being a glutton when you eat so you don't gain so much weight. Get off those 'diet' drinks. You may be addicted to them by now.

Hairy,I could care less about your spelling or grammar. Your health comes first, watch your carb intake to help control your sugar. #'s look much improved today, keep up the good work on controlling those #'s. Carb control is what my wife's doctor tells her!

Beeblebrox42, sadly people are misinformed, they believe everything they read on facebook.

I am curious about the HgA1C level. Getting to your endocrinologist or family physician is first and foremost.

Too much bread, potatoes, pasta, rice. Your sugar is way too high. Get to a doctor or the ER now!
