Easy solution...

You put a little peanut butter on the one side, then push the door down. The mouse goes in to eat the peanut butter, and the door closes! Then you just take it away and let it out.
Liberal way of humane treatment of the mouse. Catch it in a live trap, take it to the vet and get it checked out and vaccinated. You might could have it spayed or neutered while you are there. So far you shouldn't have over $200 plus travel in the mouse. You might could implant micro chips to track its behavior, and find if you change your mind about owning one. Your liberal friends will applaud you at your next tree hugging event.

Got it, always clean the litter before I go to bed which is in the basement. One of the cats had it flipping it. I got me a small plastic cup and dust pan, worked great, unlocked the basement door and threw it in the yard. The mouse didn't seem hurt. I'm so happy I go it without trap or tape..

Put the peanut butter on the under side of the bait paddle - works every time!

I tried that I even tied some thread to the trap and wrapped it up in the peanut butter and he would clean the trap every time. I even bent the latch to the point it was barely holding with no luck.

gascon, if you have a mouse, you will have signs. If they are around for even a short period of time, they will leave droppings. They have a preference for fat meat, so a little piece of bacon is a good bait.

Forget any trap that is "Animal Friendly," regular ol spring trap is the best. Quick and efficient.

Joe you definitely had a Jedi mouse!

Gascon, husband knows best. Get the mousetrap an bait it with a little cheese. Dont get those glue traps.Thats a sad way for even a mouse to die. Put the trap next to the fridge an maybe remove the cat food for the night.Usually the mouse will come out after you turn out the lights at night. The cat could possibly catch it.

Lol I had a mouse that must of had special forces training I would bait a trap with peanut butter and he would sneak in and get it but not set the trap off. After trying a few other things I baited the trap and set it on the edge of a glue board. Latter that night I heard the trap snap and the SF Houdini mouse was no more.

Thanks DLD, I'm getting a mouse trap. I don't want to torture so not going to get glue trap. Not seen it thinking the cat might got it. One of my cats don't have many teeth, the other one does. Their outside now trying to get them in, need to go to bed soon.

You might not have a mouse, but it's only $6 to find out. And that's a lot cheaper than an exterminator!

Thought about calling an exterminator, husband said didn't need to. He said get a mouse trap and put behind the refrigerator.

I might have a mouse, don't know. I noticed my cat smelling around the refrigerator. I pulled it out and found cat food where the water pan is. I vaccumed it up and cleaned as good as I could. I've not seen one or heard anything. One of my cats could of carried it in, I try to check their mouths. Has anyone else had this happen? I've never had one in my house before.
