That's my point, Fred. Republicans can get behind "No New Taxes," but then talk about all these new services (like death panels) with no way to pay for it.
You really can't have it both ways. If you want a new program, you have to have a plan to pay for it.
And that's where the GOP keeps falling apart... it's all talk.

1. Law and order 2. Lower taxes 3 Nation sovereignty 4. Individual liberty 5. Capitalism 6. Right to Life 6. Smaller government 7. AMERICA The problem here is that these ideals contradict one another, you just lack the ability to see the bigger picture.
How do you want "law and order," while at the same time lowering taxes? Where do you think the money comes from?
How do you want "right to life" (which I assume is a reference to abortion) while at the same time you want a "smaller government?" No one has yet explained who will be in charge of determining whether the abortion is medically necessary other than creating a government panel for it.
Further, how do you propose "lower taxes," while at the same time paying for this new "death panel" and paying for all of the new children receiving welfare and financial assistance?
You see, that's the real problem. The GOP talks about hot topic issues that the more ignorant can get behind ("No New Taxes!") because they can't think any deeper about how it is actually going to be accomplished.
Think about it like this, Foxy. The GOP has had full control of the White House and Congress for about 60% of the time since Roe v Wade, but how many laws have they actually passed to limit or ban abortion? Surely you can see that it's all just been talk to get their base excited?
