No one should be drinking diet drinks or using artificial sweeteners

Switch to unsweet tea or coffee. However!! I believe that the caffeine can also raise the sugar in type II diabetics, so it may be a very wise choice for you to take the class someone mentioned! Green tea can be very good for you and isn't as strong or bitter when unsweetened and it comes in a decafe.
Also, stay away from juice, unless your sugar drops.

Hairy along with that 2000 mg of metformin a day you need a shot of insulin twice a day to help the metformin do its job. Your blood sugar running as high as it is, I can't understand why the doctor hasn't already had you on insulin before now. Keep that sugar regulated and it will help take care of those kidneys, eyes, and limbs and other vital organs that are affected by high blood sugar.

you need to get it under control....diet and exercise is exactly what does that for the long term hairy. You can if you are willing to put in the effort, get it under control. Consult with your physician and a diabetic educator that can help you get started....diabetes is and can be a devastating condition...and sadly it sounds like you're well on your way to that devastation.

@her koiboy

I am not sure where you get that from. According to WebMD

"
The International Food Information Council Foundation criticized the study's small size and design.

"The fact that this study's findings are so vastly different from the preponderance of science on this issue is a signal to those evaluating it that there may be issues with the study design," said Marianne Smith Edge, RD, in a statement. She's senior vice president of nutrition and food safety at the foundation.

Haley Stevens, PhD, president of the Calorie Control Council, also said the human as well as the mouse studies were too small to conclude that the findings apply to larger groups."

Honey you better go see a doctor, that is too high in blood sugar.Have someone take you cause your a road hazard. My aunt has the worst diebties I've seen and sometimes she passes out like you do from low blood sugar, it high at times but it an also go down.People though she was crazy when she started opening open a product off the shelf but she can't help it, she'll pay for it but when her blood sugar goes down it makes me freak out cause I don't know what to do if she blacks out.

If your bsl is that high regularly, you need to get that under control before you not only lose your eyesight, but your limbs... Do you enjoy having feet?

hairy, FIRST you are NOT getting enough Metformin and SECOND "diet" drinks still run your glucose levels UP! Sweet anything that has Splendid type substitute added has the sugar converted to "Sugar Alcohol" which although is not carbs, does affect blood sugar. So just drink WATER only!

You might need to be on insulin instead of pills and you will go blind or lose a leg or foot if this is not fixed.

Go to a doctor as soon as you can get an appointment.

Glucose levels that high, can certainly compromise your eyesight.

You need to follow your diabetic regimen and your physicians advice...pronto, or you will lose your sight!

bible ain't got nothing to do with this...this is all on you hairy!
