CHARLOTTE, N.C � A man has been arrested after police say he shot a woman during a road rage incident near several CMS Schools. 3 schools were placed on lockdown Wednesday morning after shots were fired near Rama Road Elementary. CMPD identified the gunman as Andre Whitfield. They say he shot a 35-year-old woman after an argument broke out in the drop-off line at the school. The woman was shot in the leg and is recovering from serious injuries.
Whitfield turned himself into authorities, and bonded out less than four hours later. He's charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury and possessing a weapon on educational property.
Omarri Tobias was charged with assault with a deadly weapon, carrying a concealed weapon and communicating threats. His bond was set at $250,000 during a May court appearance.
Mecklenburg County Jail records state Tobias was released at 10:42 a.m. on Aug. 12. His next court appearance is scheduled for Sept. 13.
Indiana Man Busted For DUI In Kids' Power Wheels Jeep
An Indiana man was arrested for driving under the influence last week after being pulled over while "operating a Power Wheels Jeep in the roadway," police said.
The cops executed a traffic stop on the tiny toy car and found this 51-year-old bloke behind the wheel and meth'd out of his brain. He was taken to jail on a felony charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated with a prior conviction.

Lauren Pazienza pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the pushing death of a beloved 87-year-old vocal coach. Prosecutors say Pazienza was out celebrating with her fianc� when she stormed off in a fit of anger. That's when cops say she passed Barbara Gustern and shoved her for no reason. Gustern hit her head and died five days later.
Mackenzie Shirilla was accused of deliberately slamming her car at 100 mph into a brick wall that killed her 20-year-old boyfriend Dominic Russo and his 19-year-old friend Davion Flanagan. Prosecutors say Shirilla was on a "mission of death" and methodically planned a murder-suicide. The judge agreed.
