Arguing over a mythical being.
That's like saying all unicorns are rainbow colored, we know that's not true because some are glitter.

“I've been arguing on the side of gender-neutral because I see no reason to explain his sexuality or sexual organs to children. He's supposed to be a magical elf, or possibly a metaphor for God, so why does he need genitalia?”
You don’t generally need to see genitalia to form an opinion as to gender.

Everyone keeps describing the Coke version.
Santa is represented differently throughout the world and shocker in some areas not at all.

So, what we're projecting is that it's wrong to be a big, kind-hearted, generous old man elf? Why are we demonizing the good, old man elves?

Children have a basic understanding of male and female genders. Why confuse them by trying to make Santa neither?
I found the actual survey, and it's kind of interesting:
His gender was only one of the questions. 72.2% said to keep his as a male, 10.6% said to make him female, and 17.2% said to make him gender-neutral.
I've been arguing on the side of gender-neutral because I see no reason to explain his sexuality or sexual organs to children. He's supposed to be a magical elf, or possibly a metaphor for God, so why does he need genitalia?

As a sentient albeit mythical being, Santa is expected to exhibit the normal attributes of other persons.
After drinking 30 million gallons of milk in a night, we expect him to whip that thing out and turn the snow drifts yellow.

OK, OC, but how does that relate to Santa?
I have no problem with adult women that have a Santa fetish, but do children need to be taught that a gift-giving magical elf has a penis?

This is a liberal war on masculinity.
There are still lots of women out there that want to be f’ed by a real man, not some sensitive snowflake wearing skinny jeans and carrying a man purse.
Real women want real men.

You are the one projecting sexuality onto Santa!!! There is nothing sexual about calling a man a man or a woman a woman.
You're demanding that people tell children that he's a "big burly man," where tradition dictates that he's a small non-human. You're the one demanding that we give him a penis.
My question is, why? What's wrong with going with tradition and just calling him an elf? No sexual organs need to be explained.
If you want to talk about something scary just look at that picture you posted of a transvestite Santa Clause.
I guess you don't watch Fresh Off the Boat?
Seems to me that telling kids a magical genderless eunuch is going to sneak into the house while they are sleeping would be much more disturbing The whole concept is creepy, when you think about it. But I guess it's all about making children believe in something magical (Santa is, after all, a metaphor for God).
Some people just insist on injecting sex into everything!

Can you not read, TRE?
I think I've made it pretty clear. You're the one demanding that we project sexuality onto Santa, and I'm simply pointing out that this might be pretty scary to children that have been raped or molested.
So that's my argument towards removing sexuality from Santa at all.
Now, what's your argument that he needs to have a penis?

Anti seems to view Santa as a sneaky old pervert trying to rape children. Leave Santa Alone!!! You liberals should find something else to sink your claws into. Maybe you try turning the boogie man gender neutral.

That's a question, Sparkles... you can tell by the tone of the comment and the ? at the end
But you seem to be misunderstanding (which is probably you just trolling, because we all know you're not that dense). My point is that many children that have been raped and/or molested develop a fear of men in general. So why are we teaching them that there's a magical man that's watching them 24/7 and can sneak into their bedroom unchecked? Wouldn't it make sense that this story is terrifying children that have already been traumatized?
And I know, you're going to say "well, just don't tell that story to the raped kids." But what about the ones that are taught about Santa before they're raped or molested? Or the ones that are molested at home regularly but are too afraid to say anything?
When you think about it, removing Santa's sexuality can help those kids, without having any impact at all on the other kids. So what does it hurt to just refer to him as a non-gender-specific elf instead of a human man?
