Still, doesn't answer the question and most folks around here will argue that their guns are useless if secured.

Here are a few common sense rules every gun toter should read.
1. Treat every firearm like it's loaded. 2. If you don't understand every safety feature of your weapon and exactly how it works then learn it. 3. Store your weapons and amunition in a very secure place. 4. If you are dumb enough to carry a firearm around in crowded public places kocked and ready make certain you are the only one who knows about it. 5. Never use, carry, display or even clean your weapons while under the influence of any drug.

Why would ANYBODY be against mandatory training in the use & handling of guns?
Since when is education a bad thing?

And no one can disagree that our militias are seriously trained and armed. I still think it goes back to a difference between regulated militia and unregulated paramilitary groups. I think it is important to note the differences when referring to the Constitution and the founding fathers.

I think it does, Quack. What would we do without the National Guard?

More gun laws are coming if inexperienced gun toters keep making mistakes. The anti-gun groups will be laughing about how they "gave 'em enough rope and they hung themselves."

Thank God, crypt. Sometimes I think folks confuse the militia with paramilitary groups.

Shag, you have consistently defended your rights as provided by the 2nd ammendment, but when I asked why you do not defend a woman's right to chose what to do with her own body, yesterday, you immediately talked about abortion being murder of innocents. I think that pretty clearly signifies your stance.
There is a bill right now in MO that lawmakers are trying to pass that make it mandatory for a woman to get written permission from the sperm provider, in order to have an abortion. The ones screaming the loudest about "don't mess with my 2nd ammendment rights" are the ones actively challenging the Supreme Court decision to protect a woman's right to choose which was base on the 14 th ammendments right to privacy.
It is not derailing the subject when one side claims absolute adherence to their interpretation of an ammendment for one issue, but actively tries to change other amendments, that they don't agree with.

One explanation regarding the "well-organized militia" and perhaps the "unorganized militia" is that the founding fathers were keeping their eyes on subsequent attempts by England to "claim" America.

hipower (view profile) Posted 4:47 pm, 01/31/2015 Mark me down for one of them unorganized militias.
It is hard to understand the new guys as that movement is not very long in existence. I think if you want to go back to the founding fathers opinion, it makes more sense to see what they did and consider the entire history since. The new guys that promote the new view are sorta outside the vision of the founding fathers.

| " Name one constitutional right that I have not stood up for" That would be a woman's right to choose what happens with her own body which falls under the 14th amendment.
| So what right have you lost that falls under the 14th amendment?
