You can have socialized medicine. You also will have to force people to enter and finish medical school. You can wait for permission to have a hip replacement, a stent placed in your heart, chemo treatment for cancer...

So if population is the reason we can't have a healthcare system similar to other countries, then explain the fire department, police, utilities.. etc. Surely if our population is an issue with healthcare we shouldn't be able to form a police force either.

I think it is ironic that Democrats are mad at a one federal judge when they have been judge picking for the last two years. Live by the sword, die by the sword. Again, explain to me who is going to paid for this universal healthcare. Obamacare was always designed to failed with or without republicans. The United States will never, repeat never have universal healthcare because we can’t afford it. Are insurance companies going to lose money? Are you going to make doctors take these patients? Maybe there is someone with 32 trillion willing to give it to the US so everybody can have insurance.

Jack, let's see if your ignorance understands this..Speaking for only me..Lost my job, along with several others..Was offered COBRA for over $400.00 monthly For some ignorant reason, no way after losing my only income beside un emplpyment..Why can't the U S be like the vast majority of the rest of the industrialized world and offer some form of universal healthcare ?

A big step was made in the mid terms sending so many gop politicians home..I know. You know it.And anybody who reads this know the overwhelming majority of Americans want healthcare..Livable ages. Infrastructure and more help especially homeless veterans and not a d*** WALL

Wait hold up - You don't want to give a woman the right to choose, yet you also don't want to help when they choose to have a baby.

I thought it took a boy and girl to make maternity even a possibility.

Why should a man been required to buy health insurance that includes maternity coverage?

While I get your point, it's nothing new. If you had group insurance through your job, you had maternity coverage prior to Obamacare. In my opinion this country will either go Single Payor or just fix or replace this. It is not possible to go back where health insurance was prior to the law. The number one thing politicians want is to stay in office. With 75% of folks qualifying for tax credits to help pay for insurance, the quickest way to get voted out is to take a 1000(many get more) bucks a month away from someone without a serious backup plan.

That would be your own ignorance for not signing up when you went out of work catfish. And you would be incapable of understanding the aca if I explained it to you.

Trump made lots of promises.

Let's see -

- making kids lunches unhealthier check

- taking away healthcare for the unhealthy kids, check

- Making the air the kids breath more unhealthy, check

Trump's 2020 slogan will be - Making Americans Die Earlier.

People will lap it up because it will cut down on Social Security costs.

Just asking ? What part will be a "great victory" as Trump stated about appx. 20 million Americans losing their healthcare insurance ? I mean does'nt anyone remember his campaign promise about healthcare ?

Smonk your point would be better made if you left out the word “free”.
Nothing is free. Someone is paying through taxes or increased insurance costs.

Whether you know it or not, Obamacare has affected nearly every American.

The Affordable Care Act does far more than allow millions of people to get health insurance through exchanges or Medicaid expansion.

It saves senior citizens money on their Medicare coverage and prescription drugs. It lets many Americans obtain free birth control, mammograms and cholesterol tests. It requires many restaurants to post the calorie counts of their menu items. And it allows children to stay on their parents' health insurance plans until they turn 26.

And most importantly for many folks, Obamacare prevents insurers from turning away or charging more to those with pre-existing conditions. This provision proved so popular that even Republican candidates found themselves promising to defend it in the recent midterm election in an unsuccessful bid to retain their majority in the House. Some 52 million people, or 27% of non-elderly adults, have a pre-existing condition that would have prevented them from getting coverage prior to Obamacare, according to the Kaiser Family Foundation.

Obamacare has meant lower premiums, deductibles and cost-sharing for the roughly 60 million senior citizens and disabled Americans enrolled in the program.

The health reform law made many changes to Medicare. It slowed the growth of payment rates to hospitals and other providers, reduced payments to Medicare Advantage plans and improved benefits for enrollees. The Obama administration estimated that the typical Medicare beneficiary pays about $700 less in premiums and cost sharing thanks to the Affordable Care Act.

Employer-sponsored insurance

Obamacare requires that companies with at least 50 employees provide affordable insurance to their staffers who work more than 30 hours a week.

This mandate didn't have a major impact on the 150 million workers who are insured through their jobs. Most larger employers already offer coverage for full-time workers. However, setting the bar at 30 hours a week prompted some employers to extend coverage to more of their staff, since many companies had considered that threshold to be part-time.

Workers also no longer have to pay for contraceptives and preventative screenings, such as colonoscopies and mammograms. Obamacare requires these be provided free of charge.
The ACA also prohibits employers from imposing annual or lifetime limits on benefits and caps out-of-pocket spending.
