On line banking, who has it and who trust it?

When it comes to your money do what is comfortable for you. I'm going old school with my money. Young people are all about technology and smart phones. Not my cup of tea.

Nothing is risk free. An old man I once knew didn't trust banks so he kept his money in a gun safe inside the house. The house burned down and he lost his life's savings. If you use checks your name and bank account number are on there and crooks have been known to make copies and cash fake checks. Yes you run the risk of being hacked if you bank online but there is also a risk of waiting a month to receive your bank statement in the mail then finding transactions you didn't make. With online banking you can watch for suspicious activity everyday and do something about it faster.

I think the biggest threat is phishing scams, I get emails, text, and phone calls all the time trying to get my private info. Never click on a link in text or email or give out info over the phone. You have to be careful how ever you decide to do your banking. Just do what you feel most comfortable with.

I've been online banking for 20 years. No problems, no complaints.

FDIC covers if the bank fails. It does not cover cover cyber crimes. So how safe is you computer at home? Read before you jump.

I'm sure banks have lots of security on their computers. I just like to be safe and will put more effort into it. IDK if FDIC covers home banking accounts. Bottom line, make your own decision and good luck.

Local banks have it all on computer, too. So it's no safer.

Besides, all banks are covered by the FDIC.

It's great until they get your account number. It's almost impossible to catch someone on the net, especially someone computer savvy.

First It's the greatest thing since sliced bread , I haven't been to the bank in months. Second don't believe anything anyone calls , texts , emails you about your bank accounts. Contact the bank yourself.

The other night I watched the BeeKeeper with Jason Statham. Pretty good movie. His friend was ripped off by scammers, wiped out her money. She had all her information on the computer. I wouldn't trust it, but you know me. Better safe than sorry. AI isn't making it any safer either.

I don't use it because I know how computers work.
