Learn all the hoops and jumps you have to make, and the artificially expensive problems involved, and you'll see why businesses don't start here.

Well I'm not getting married. What could I possibly do with marriage?  How is a single women draining the system if she doesn't have a baby?

Figure out how many homeless people there are in Wilkes. Divide that number by 66. Whatever the answer is, hire that many buses to take the homeless on a one way trip to California. Problem solved.

Basically, instead of putting down your community so much for being druggies, why not try to uplift the young people here who do try to work and take care of their families. They deserve decent wages.

I'm not sure who all y'all associate with but I assure you that there is more than just "pillheads" that live in Wilkes!
Now I'm not ignorant to the fact that there is a drug problem in this community but in my experience, many regions of the same population face the same problems ... it's a National epidemic, not exclusive to Wilkes or even NC.
But my point is, there are still plenty of good, decent folks right here in Wilkes, many that despite being decent still live below or at poverty level.
I don't know the solution? I've always suggested more education. But it seems nowadays people would rather spend funds allocated for Education to "arm teachers" for security purposes based solely on fear.
But poverty is a very complicated issue with different facets as the cause

Don't matter how many good paying jobs there are if they cant pass a drug test. Much easier to steal, deal and wear that ebt card out. But according to the libs they cant help it its all our fault,
