The problem is way more complex that what has been posted. There are many things that are keeping jobs out of Wilkes.

Unskilled labor
Work ethic
Drugs
Transportation (Too far off the interstates
Lack of available buildings (quality buildings, not some of the junk that is trying to be peddled)
The list could go on and on

Don't bother passing your suggestion and breath in North Wilkesboro. They will give you the middle finger and tell you to stick it where the sun don't shine. They want a retirement village to outshine west Jefferson version of Walt Disney world.I can see Wilkesboro listening, but a slim chance, if you can find another members to come down to the commissions meeting and raise **** about it.

We just need to do what Trump is doing except on a local level since he has obviously been so successful the past year.

We should cut or get rid of all local business taxes. Get rid of the worthless local regulations that don't do any good for anyone except for the employment of the regulators.

Why then does the county not spread a wider net so to say to secure all businesses intrests into the area. Open it for tech suave businesses.

First you have to bring good manufacturing jobs back into the USA. End unfair trade practices with other countries. Remember what Ross Perot said back in the 90's? He was right... the swooshing sound was jobs leaving America.

So, eliminate the welfare system from Wilkes and that would push them to other cities to provide necessities of life. Isnt that kinda a white version of gentrification?

Single and unwed Mothers drain the system. They get free housing, food stamps and lots of other free services. They stay in the system for years.

Thats is somewhat like a program Milwaukee had way back when, but they houses were as low as a buck. You had to upgraded it and live in it for one year then could sell it.

One has to look at cities, that are completely bankrupt at this point. Take Detroit for example, what are they doing to regenerate themselves. Could that be applied on a smaller scale like this county?
