Sure doesn't happen that often.
November 9th, 1968 and November 22, 1950 also had accumulating (1"+) snow east of the mountains.

I did some quick research to find a similar snow event near Thanksgiving for Wilkes County.
November 19th, 2000.
1" of snow was reported in Wilkes County. Numerous wrecks statewide.

It may be 40 with rain at 1am but it will drop into the lower 30s with snow later Wednesday morning. That's why it shows the forecast high so warm. This commonly confuses the public a lot.

thats the way it did last year warm one day then snow 2 foot the next . i think a white t-day would b great.
