No need for panic. The only need is to prepare.
We are in the time frame where we could see a Winter Storm Watch be issued as early as tomorrow night. The threat is there for this one to impact holiday travel. Be safe.

Yea it's crazy the EURO model has been showing it since then. However, no good forecaster is dumb enough to post it to social media a week in advance though when other models do not show it. These type of forecasters hype every single storm shown on the long range for money. It creates panic in the public that is not needed more than half the time.

Sorry for the bold/spacing. It looked a little better in Word.
I will update again tonight with the latest models. Accumulations will likely change so stay tuned.
I won't be posting these crazy snow maps you see on Facebook just yet...until I see some cooling in our temperature profile to support more snow than mixture/rain. Snow maps are likely overdone unless its really an all snow event. This is a bit hard to believe before Thanksgiving IMO.

The NWS in Blacksburg, VA has issued a hazardous weather outlook which includes Wilkes County.
LOW PRESSURE WILL TRACK ALONG THE EAST COAST ON TUESDAY NIGHT AND WEDNESDAY.THERE IS A POTENTIAL FOR WINTER PRECIPITATION... INCLUDING SNOW AND SLEET...FROM LATE TUESDAY NIGHT THROUGH WEDNESDAY ON THE NORTHWEST SIDE OF PRECIPITATION ASSOCIATED WITH THIS LOW.
My current thinking....
Timing: Mostly on WednesdayAccumulations: Models vary from nothing to several inches. 3-6" looks to be the average consensus...but the potential exists for less or more based on track/temp.
Confidence: Moderate. Storm has been shown for awhile now and several models have joined the EURO. Storm is within 3 days too.
Precip type: Cold rain to wet snow.
Temperature: Low 40s falling to low 30s.
Impact: Holiday travel.
