The issue here is that the tax credits are for the American children. True, the parents may be undocumented, but the children are natural born citizens. So what do you do? Deport American citizens to another country? Let American children starve?
I didn't find anything more recent than 2012 on it, though, so I don't know if this policy has been changed since then.
Regardless, it doesn't change the fact that I posted earlier: the net economic contribution to the nation from illegal immigrants is over $11 billion.

From what i've read most of the migrants headed this way are from Honduras.. Maybe not this day and time, yet a few years back they had the highest murder rate of the whole world? We certainly need these people bad too say the least...
Can you think of any reason why people should stay where they are afraid of being murdered? By definition, wouldn't these people be refugees?
