I am thinking, no matter what the GOP senators do about Trump, they are screwed. If they vote to impeach, they lose the hardcore Trumpettes. If they vote to acquit, they lose everyone else. The democrats never had the hardcore Trumpettes in the first place. The others will either vote democratic or not vote at all. The democrats win both ways.

I think it has to do with both. If Trump has indeed committed crimes then he must go. Anyone that continues to participate in the cover up will be vulnerable come election time.

I don't think that has anything to do with it.
Biden will be 3rd or 4th by the time the primaries come to NC.
However if anything, I think it has more to do with flipping the Senate back. Some vulnerable senators are about to have to make some tough decisions.

I agree so why push for a trial that prevents some of the presidential front runners from campaigning, they're throwing it to Biden, in my opinion.

I don't see things going into the wee hours of the morning allowing more people to watch.
Even in a campaign year, they have a duty to uphold the constitution and ones election or party should not take precedent over their oath.

So more people can watch it, if they choose. My question is why would the Democrats push for an impeachment trial so close to an election knowing that some of the Democrat Senators who are running for President will not be able to be on the campaign trail, are they trying to throw the election for one of the non-Senator candidates or maybe even for Trump. I wouldn't put anything past them considering how they cheated for Hillary the last time.

And 8 out if the top 10 with the highest are red. So you still have no point and you make no point showing that map. It's ignorant to say "dur dur dur Republicans work during the day, so they have to show the trial at night." We aren't talking 4 pm to 11 pm here. We are talking like 9 pm to 3 am.
So you have no reason other than McConnell doesn't want eyes on it.
