CitizenBee- no- I don't even pretend to know everything. For example-- I am not the best at pulling an article forward to this site---but if you go into the news site of 3wc online sometime around the 21st of November, you will see an article concerning First Community Bank In hays. The article states that the sheriffs dept was called out to the bank 4 times in one week because of embezzlement by employee. I am not quoting,so it would be best to find the article and read it. It states that 4 employees of First Community are under investigation for embezzlement. In the one instance that they were called out for on that particular day, it seems the amount was for 11,000.00.

If in fact 4 employees are under investigation--that would be the entire staff of the bank as there are not more than that employed there. I have enjoyed my banking relationship with first community and I do hope they continue to be a part of the Hays Community. However, the gossip mill has been going now for many weeks regarding who is responsible for the embezzlement. If this matter is not addressed publicly, I feel it will put the bank out of business, as it will be hard to trust a bank who does not let the customers know---yes we had a problem, lay the problem out and tell the customers what was done to fix that problem, and what is being done to move forward so that it does not happen in the future. This was not a one time thing. How many customers have been compromised over the years?? How many years back does it go? I have heard that it goes back as long as the manager has been there. So---NOW what---is this a public concern--or will it be brushed aside and let it continue elsewhere?

Lordymercy dillugaf , why should we post about things we know nothing about ? Many, if not most of us, know nothing about that bank , so we have nothing to say about it.

Banks don't usually advertise loses through thief. They had rather lose the money then to let the world know they can be embezzled.

The folks on this site never fail to amaze me. I do not frequent gowilkes, but every once in a while, I do get on here when I hear about something going on in the community to see what the site has to say about the particular topic in question.

Thousands to different posts about what is for breakfast, or about President Trump, or whatever, but when it comes to something that is actually about the community--- hardly a word about it.

Several weeks ago, there was a real shake up at the bank at Hays. Employees that were previously there suddenly disappeared. New people sharted showing up, auditors, fraud investigators, and employees were fired. A news article was posted on 3WC for one puplib site, but that is the most that was posted about the subject.

Now, I am not sure how most of you think or feel, but I for one feel that if the bank that holds my money has 4 employees suspected of fraud as the article on 3wc stated, I would think that the gowilkes community would be all over that . I would think some of you would have an account with this bank and want to know the rest of the story. I for one, don't want my money to stay in a financial institution until I know that the person or persons wer made accountable and it became public knowledge . How can a bank be trusted if they sweep it under the rug? I am waiting for answers for a few more days before I close out my accounts. I want to be fair, but I also want to be informed.

I noticed this a few days ago. I have also heard charges are coming.

I sure hope it doesn't close that a good place to get cash a lot of drug selling in that little block plus a poker house right around the corner and a nice school right across the street
