Well for your information she knows that her problem is up here and she is fine with it because she wants something done about this because officers do not have or think they have the right to try and put her in handcuffs just because he got a little baby scratch. And you must think you know everything when you say she wouldn't be happy. If someone in your family had this issue and came home with charges took out on them and bruises on them because of the cop, and them not let you see them or know anything about them until they tell you their self maybe you wouldn't be so happy either. I hope one day you have the same issue so you know exactly what this family is going through you cold hearted ignorant *****! 99% of the people here know how ****ty this town/state is you probably don't know it because your so stuck up you don't realize anything if it don't have to do with you!

i worked with a lady that had grand mal seizures. she diid exactly the same thing as you described. she had several at work and finally had to retire under a doctors orders. the ems should have been able to recogonize this. the lady I worked with would also hit and swing and had no control over what she was doing.

I had a classmate in elementary school who would have seizures and we all learned to run out of the classroom asap as he would sometimes exhibit superhuman feats during an episode such as slinging an old school type desk against the other side of the room.

We must have gone to school together.

It could actually be that there is more to this story and perhaps your uncles girlfriend wouldn't be so happy to know that her medical, financial and legal problems are broadcast on gowilkes.

This is my thinking on this.

1. EMS does not call the law, unless three things are present. 1 A danger to themsefls, 2. a danger to other. 3. some thing verry iligal is going on.

Let that sink in for a minuet.

2. The paramedics would know withen 15 seconds if this was a true sezier and would not let sherif deputys hand cuff a pt unless they were causing harm to there selfs or others. The emts would have medicated her if she was as bad as you stated.

3. Every one is the victum. If some one runs a stop sign in this county, it is some how law enforcements fault.

I may be totaly wrong here, but I doubt it. Too many thing dont add up.

They told her that they was grand mal seizures for sure an the EMTS had picked her up a couple weeks ago for the same thing

There are many programs out there to assist with prescription needs if the patient truly cannot pay for their meds.

Surely if she was in the hospital they would send a blood sample to the lab and they would know whether or not she was on drugs or alcohol. That would clear up a lot of things. They could also confirm the grand mal seizures.

mommotwo So, I'm just trying to look at the bright side.....if she didn't know what she was doing then there is a good chance she doesn't remember being treated so horribly, right? Do you know her well enough to know beyond a shadow of a doubt that she didn't have alcohol or drugs in her system? OK for one I do know her well enough to know that she does not do drugs or drink, She has been around me and my family for a very long time and we have never seen her drink any alcohol whatsoever or do drugs! AND for you saying she couldn't remember being treated so badly you are right she couldn't but we all seen what had happen and she has bruises from where that officer manhandled her!
And yes, I think you should be able to hold someone accountable for their actions if they have put others in danger by not taking medicine that is prescribed. What if this happened when she was driving down the road? And for this comment it is NOT her fault that she can not afford her medicine she nor anyone in my family is the richest **** people in the world some of her medicine costs a ****ing fortune! Her and my uncle try their best every month to have their meds and be able to have food on the table and have a **** roof over their head so unless you know how it is to live paycheck to paycheck literally than you need to keep your mouth shut saying it was her fault that she didnt have her meds! They had to spend most of their money on her surgery's and meds for her eye so once in a while they aren't going to have the money to get her meds and for your comment what if it happened while she was driving down the road she cant drive because she is blind in one eye and if you are so ****ing scared than stay off the road! I swear there are some **** ignorant people around here

I'd like to hear "the other side" of the story. There are things that don't make sense. Why did they say in the ER that her blood alcohol level was high, and who said it? Why was a psych evaluation done...grand mal seizures would be fairly easy for an ER doctor to recognize and diagnose, would they not? How long was she kept for observation?

Whatever took place, I hope this person can get her medical issues straightened out and get back on her meds.

Like the old saying goes, there is my side of the story, and there is your side of the story, and some where in between is the truth.

Just read the newspaper and look at all the problems we have in this county. Our police officers have a lot to deal with and I for one don't envy their job. Yes they are a few bad eggs in every basket but I think we have a decent SD department and a pretty good sheriff too. If the OP is truthful the deputy should lose his job. I find it hard to believe that a doctor would let a patient leave the ER knowing they are going to jail if their health was in jeopardy. Something about this post stinks.

No sheriffs office is prepared to make a determination of someone's medical condition, when they arrive upon a scene.... they are there to get control of the situation so that emergency workers who are trained to some degree, to assist as best they can to make sure the pt doesn't harm themselves and others. I find it quite a bit off that the er physicians didn't deem it necessary to keep the pt overnight or longer for observation, considering the enormity and frequency of said seizures.

This is a very conflicting story and we're only getting one side here. To think that anyone hoping for a lawsuit against the sheriffs dept does nothing more than increase taxes, raises court cost...there's a roller coaster effect when something like this happens...we all end up paying for it in the long run.

I hope for all involved there is a reasonable explanation and that the said victim gets the medical attention they need.If not...it certainly looks like it's gonna get uglier than it already is

Like I said many times before people need to start reading there full rights and learn about all the laws and stand up to cops be law suits and showing cops your not scared of them anymore cause until people stand up for them self against those cops that act above the law it will only continue to the point it will be like it was in the old days people where we will get beating on and worst just because cops think that no can touch them.and if I was you people I would get a out of town lawyer and sue the cop no in town lawyer will take the case cause there friends with all the cops around here so its best to get a out of town lawyer and sue them for wrong doing.

OK......LUNGS!!

best wishes to you and you're family. the ones I feel sorry for are the emt's and the officiers. they live in the SAME WORLD that we live in and they are flesh and bone too. NONE, NOT NOT ONE OF US are beyond this happening to us. this incident is about as bad as them doing it to a child. when a HUMAN is not in their right mind.....for whatever reason (physically and or mentally). YOU CANNOT HOLD THEM RESPONSIBLE. THAT'S COMMON SENSE. MAY GOD BLESS. wishing you and you're family better days!
