A Matter of Balance

Tuesdays and Thursdays August 7 – August 30, 2018 The Wilkes County Library will offer “A Matter of Balance.” This is an 8 session class focused on reducing the fear of falling for adults. Each class is 2 hours long and includes group discussions, information sharing, and gentle exercises designed to improve balance, flexibility, and mobility. The program will be led by Allison Brown, Outreach Provider Representative and community educator from Mountain Valley Hospice, and Kristen Staley from the Ruby Pardue Blackburn Adult Daycare. Allison and Kristen are certified coaches of A Matter of Balance, which is one of the highest rated evidence-based falls prevention programs. It is supported through the Home and Community Care Block Grant from the High Country Agency on Aging. There is a limit of 12 registrants. Please call 336-838-2818 ext. 232 and 236 to register.
