Wilkesboro, NC June 27, 2015 � McDonald�s at Winklers Mill Shopping Center, Hwy 421. Summer is finally here! It�s time to take a break, relax, and have some fun. One other important thing you can do this summer is help save lives and meet some of our local heroes who do just that.

The American Red Cross is a charitable organization that depends on volunteers and donors. An integral part to the Red Cross organization are Blood Drives. Did you know that the American Red Cross receives fewer donors at blood drives hosted in the months of June, July, and August? One pint of blood can save up to 3 lives! Here�s where you come in � we need your help! McDonald�s will be hosting a Blood Drive Saturday, June 27th 10am � 2pm. You can sign up to donate inside our McDonald�s location or online at http://www.redcrossblood.org. Walk-ins are also welcome.

Not only will the American Red Cross be onsite, customers will also have the opportunity to meet some of our local heroes. Brushy Mountain Fire Department and Wilkesboro Fire Department will have teams and trucks at the event giving out Summer Fire Safety information, tours of the trucks will also be available. A Wilkes County EMS Unit will also be in attendance for tours and information. Jeff Adams, General Manager of the Wilkesboro McDonald�s, was quoted saying, �We are honored to have the opportunity to connect and give back to our community. We thank all of our volunteers and team members in the community and here at McDonald�s who have helped make this event come together!�
