Friday, August 21, 2015, Local Poet Desirata Gamble will be at the Wilkes County Public Library to read from and sign her new poetry book entitled �My Thoughts Walk �. Desirata Gamble was born in Wilkes County, NC. She is the middle child of 15 children. While studying at UNC- Wilmington, she earned the 1985 Book Award for Poetry. In 2007, her poem �Wall of Words� was a statewide poetry winner at Campbell University.
