Low Cost Spay Neuter Assistance Program is sponsored and subsidized by donations made to the NON-PROFIT ALL VOLUNTEER Humane Society of Wilkes.
Basic eligibility for this program is for the individual pet owner to have annual earnings not to exceed $35,000. In order to verify eligibility we require that you bring some type of PROOF OF INCOME to sign up: Last year taxes; Bank Statement; W-2; Check Stub showing YTD earnings; Social Security Yearly Award Letter; ETC. We do NOT keep anything, just take a quick look and hand it back to you.
If you receive either FOOD STAMPS or MEDICAID (including North Carolina Health Choice for Children) just bring your EBT or Medicaid Card and you will AUTOMATICALLY QUALIFY for assistance. No other proof of income is required.
NOTE: If you have NO income at all, including no unemployment or disability, no Food Stamps or Medicaid, you will need to have the person that has responsibility for the pets feeding, vet bills, etc. come in to sign up for this program.
YOUR COST to Spay/Neuter DOG or CAT will be: Annual Income up to 15K is $25. Annual Income between 15K and 35K is $35. This amount is due to be paid at time of sign up (Cash or Check). We will then issue you a voucher good at all participating vet offices in Wilkes County. You then call and make your pet an appointment and take voucher with you for payment.
