Wilkes Playmakers will present the hilarious comedy, The Complete Works of William Shakespeare Abridged.

The Complete Works of William Shakespeare Abridged has been compared to an adolescent urge to take a baseball bat to all things culturally revered. It features takes on 37 of Shakespeare�s plays, all performed by 3 actors within a 90 minute performance. It uses a mixture of pratfalls, clunky female impersonators, and hysterical mis-readings of the plays. It is filled with a zany energy that�s a combination of Monty Python and Mel Brooks.

This performance will be of the newly revised version of the script, incorporating references to current events and popular culture.

The show is directed by Daven J. VanHoy, a veteran Wilkes Playmaker and graduate of Lees-McRae College.

Tickets are available online or at the box office one hour prior to each performance. Thursday 5/08 performance will be a Pay What You Can ticket with $2 minimum. Group rates are available upon request. Sales tax included for online ticket orders. Sales tax will be added at time of purchase for tickets bought at box office.
