The Trailblazers are an up and coming band comprised of members (from left to right) Alex Edwards of Salisbury, NC (banjo and harmony vocals), Daniel Thrailkill of Mt. Ulla, NC (guitar and lead vocals), Jonah Horton of Wilkesboro, NC (mandolin) and Will Thrailkill of Mt. Ulla, NC (upright bass and harmony vocals). The Trailblazers play a variety of musical genres including bluegrass, gospel, contemporary bluegrass, and jazz/swing. The band�s vocal skills, along with their instrumental phrasings and improvisations, demonstrate their ability to �blaze new trails� in bluegrass music. They have performed at various community events and festivals across the state. The Trailblazers have had the honor of being the opening act for �Ricky Skaggs and Kentucky Thunder� at the McGlohon Theatre in Charlotte, NC, and also for another well-known bluegrass band, �Blue Highway,� at the Neighborhood Theatre in Charlotte, NC. Last September, they performed at the inaugural �Carolina in the Fall Festival� in downtown Wilkesboro and will be performing at the festival again this year.
