Do you love Jesus enough to keep his word?

Bitter Old Man

Wasn't it you that said "Jesus said what He said for a reason."? Jesus did not say "Keep the 'Ten Commandments." No matter how many verses copy and paste, none of them says what you so desperately need it to say to be believable.

You try to twist what Jesus did say in John 14:15 "If you love Me keep My commandments" (NASB) into "Keep the 'Ten Commandments'" but that doesn't work. Jesus gave us a whole list of commandments that are not part of the 'Ten Commandments."

Which does Jesus tell us to keep: His commandments or the "Ten Commandments?"

Bitter it's obvious you refuse to hear Jesus you see in his words to obey the Ten Commandments but you refuse them so you could see . Read this last passage may your eye be open to see TRUTH..

34The crowd responded, "We understood from Scripturem that the Messiah would live forever. How can you say the Son of Man will die? Just who is this Son of Man, anyway?"

35Jesus replied, "My light will shine for you just a little longer. Walk in the light while you can, so the darkness will not overtake you. Those who walk in the darkness cannot see where they are going. 36Put your trust in the light while there is still time; then you will become children of the light."

After saying these things, Jesus went away and was hidden from them.

The Unbelief of the People

37But despite all the miraculous signs Jesus had done, most of the people still did not believe in him. 38This is exactly what Isaiah the prophet had predicted:

"LORD, who has believed our message?

To whom has the LORD revealed his powerful arm?"n

39But the people couldn't believe, for as Isaiah also said,

40"The Lord has blinded their eyes

and hardened their hearts—

so that their eyes cannot see,

and their hearts cannot understand,

and they cannot turn to me

and have me heal them."o

41Isaiah was referring to Jesus when he said this, because he saw the future and spoke of the Messiah's glory. 42Many people did believe in him, however, including some of the Jewish leaders. But they wouldn't admit it for fear that the Pharisees would expel them from the synagogue. 43For they loved human praise more than the praise of God.

44Jesus shouted to the crowds, "If you trust me, you are trusting not only me, but also God who sent me. 45For when you see me, you are seeing the one who sent me. 46I have come as a light to shine in this dark world, so that all who put their trust in me will no longer remain in the dark. 47I will not judge those who hear me but don't obey me, for I have come to save the world and not to judge it. 48But all who reject me and my message will be judged on the day of judgment by the truth I have spoken. 49I don't speak on my own authority. The Father who sent me has commanded me what to say and how to say it. 50And I know his commands lead to eternal life; so I say whatever the Father tells me to say."

I know what Jesus didn't do too! He didn't say "Keep the ‘Ten Commandments'" and He didn't say "You are under the Old Covenant since you believe in Me."

Please point out one instance where I have mentioned "religious laws or rituals." All I have done is point out what Jesus actually said (unlike you, I don't make stuff up and hope folks are not paying attention) and pointed out what you have posted numerous times: the covenant that includes the ‘Ten Commandments' was made by God to the Israelites. Oh yeah, I also pointed out that both the Old Testament, the New Testament and Jesus, Himself, affirmed His Jewish heritage and His Jewish faith.

It seems to me that the rules and rituals of your religion are not based on what Jesus said or what is to be found in the Bible. Rather, you have come up with a list of religious rules and regulations that are vaguely based on some parts of Bible and some of your own delusions, but they are NOT what Jesus said. Your cries to the contrary only brings scrutiny on your hypocrisy.

Nobody cares if you make up your own cult. Nobody much cares what rules and rituals your cult keeps. I've never said you were wrong to worship on Saturday, refuse to associate with other believers or to wear your tinfoil hat at night.

I have merely pointed out that Jesus never said I had to worship on Saturday, refrain from worshiping with others or fashion my headgear from tinfoil. Since you can not find a verse in the entire Bible that contradicts that statement please refrain from spreading the false witness that Jesus said those things. Okay, the tinfoil hat thing I made up, but if the aluminum fits. . . . .

Bitter one thing for sure is one of us is lying. I know what Jesus done and didn't do. Sin is the transgression of the commandments of God. We are not under the laws or religious rituals either. You are misrepresenting by ignorance or just plain out lying. As I have said all alone. CHRISTIAN RELIGION is lies half-truths fables traditions and false interpretation. No need to further this conversation because I will never change my point of view. Seems you will not yield to TRUTH. That Jesus and only Jesus can give eternal life Only to those that accepts his teaching. I have showed you where the Commandments are you be kept but you refuse to see them. One more time and I am through with this Post.

Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.

7 Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.

8 For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men

****** HOW WILL YOU BE JUDGED..

I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness.

47 And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.

48 He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.

49 For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.

50 And I KNOW that HIS COMMANDMENT IS LIFE EVERLASTING: whatsoever I SPEAK THEREFORE, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak.

M, I appreciate your concern, but since I've not lied, made up false things that Jesus said, slandered, misidentified who the "Word" John wrote about and understand the difference between "Israelites" and "Moses" I dowordn't know why you are trying to tell me anything.

One would assume you would realize you are damaging your own belief system with each lie and misquote you make. I don't care if you continue to discredit yourself. In fact, I have enjoyed reaffirming what I believe. At least Jesus supports what I believe with His words.

The words of Jesus do not support anything you believe, it seems. You can't find a single verse that records Jesus as saying "Keep the 'Ten Commandments'" nor can you find a single verse that records Jesus saying "You are now and Israelite under the old covenant.".

I realize that you hate Christians. I know that you are willing to trade telling the truth for revenge. I also know that if the Church is standing between a person and God the Church is closer to God than that person.

Bitter. I'm trying my best to show you that you have No idea what you are talking about. If you can't keep the commandment of God how are you going to do anything else Jesus tells You.. You seem like a nice person but Satan talks sweet also ..

Are ye so without understanding also? Do ye not perceive, that whatsoever thing from without entereth into the man, it cannot defile him;

19 Because it entereth not into his heart, but into the belly, and goeth out into the draught, purging all meats?

20 And he said, That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man.

21 For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders,

22 Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness:

23 All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.

Bitter, God didn't make his Covenant with Moses Only. He gave it to everyone that was there. Everybody heard his voice telling them the Covenant. It's no longer required that we follow the laws or the religion of that was given to Moses.

No one can serve two masters. For you will hate one and love the other; you will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and be enslaved to money."

14The Pharisees, who dearly loved their money, heard all this and scoffed at him. 15Then he said to them, "You like to appear righteous in public, but God knows your hearts. What this world honors is detestable in the sight of God.

16"Until John the Baptist, the law of Moses and the messages of the prophets were your guides. But now the Good News of the Kingdom of God is preached, and everyone is eager to get in.d 17But that doesn't mean that the law has lost its force. It is easier for heaven and earth to disappear than for the smallest point of God's law to be overturned.

M, we've already covered some of what Jesus said were sins. If you'll remember, giving false witness is a sin (Matthew 15:19) I figure every time you say "Jesus said" when Jesus didn't say it counts as a false witness. So is slander (you know, making accusations against someone without proof.) (Matthew 15:19) Look in the mirror and you'll see a person who has slandered others in this very thread.

As far as the rest of your list: Murder, yep, Jesus also listed Murder as a sin in that same verse. Jesus also lists thefts, adultery and other immoral sexual acts ***s in Matthew 15:19.

Odd that a person such as yourself picked a list of sins that aren't listed in the ‘Ten Commandments' though.
Want to know what Jesus never said was a sin though, not following ‘The Ten Commandments."

I appreciate you making my point that the Covenant with Moses does not apply to me as a non-Israelite in your copy and pate from Jeremiah. Not even in your delusional state can you believe that God was speaking to believers in Christ long before Christ was even born can you? "But this is what I commanded them [emphasis mine], saying "Obey My voice and I will be your God, and you will be My people and you will walk in all the way which I command you, that it may be well with you." (Jeremiah 7:23) The "them" is the Israelites, not the Christians.

God had Jesus Through his blood take back the laws of circumcision and the laws and religious law that he gave to Moses Jesus couldn't take back the Ten Commandments because the Lord God spoke it if you want to be my people obey my voice.

Bitter.. Didn't Jesus come for the Israelites FIRST? Didn't Jesus offer Salvation to the Jews FIRST? Again Moses laws and religious law
Jesus took away and put them on himself. Did Jesus destroy the Covenant that God made with the Israelites? No... We are to OBEY God's LAWS. Not Moses or any person.
It's about FAITH in Jesus that we are SAVED from the second Death.

Bitter.,.. so tell me.
Is anything a sin?
Is homosexuality?
Is murder?
Is rape?
Is Child molester?
Is abortion?
Is stealing?
What must a person do to receive ETERNAL LIFE?

21Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: "Add your burnt offerings to your sacrifices and eat meat. 22For I did not speak to your fathers, or command them in the day that I brought them out of the land of Egypt, concerning burnt offerings or sacrifices. 23But this is what I commanded them, saying, ‘Obey My voice, and I will be your God, and you shall be My people. And walk in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well with you.' 24Yet they did not obey or incline their ear, but followed[b] the counsels and the [c]dictates of their evil hearts, and went[d] backward and not forward. 25Since the day that your fathers came out of the land of Egypt until this day, I have even sent to you all My servants the prophets, daily rising up early and sending them. 26Yet they did not obey Me or incline their ear, but stiffened their neck. They did worse than their fathers.

27"Therefore you shall speak all these words to them, but they will not obey you. You shall also call to them, but they will not answer you.

You are right, M. God made a promise to the ISRAELITES. I am not an Israelite therefore God's promise to them does not apply to me. I am not held to their standards nor am I promised their rewards.

Moses went up to God, and the Lord called to him from the mountain, saying, "Thus you shall say to the house of Jacob and tell the sons of Israel: ‘You yourselves have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I bore you on eagles' wings, and brought you to Myself. Now then, if you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, then you shall be My own possession among all the peoples, for all the earth is Mine; and you shall be to Me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.' These are the words that you shall speak to the sons of Israel." (Exodus 19: 3-6)

Being a believer in Christ does not put one under the Old Covenant. Christ said His blood was evidence of the New Covenant (Matthew 26:28) The New Covenant did not replace the promise God had made to the Israelites, they are still "His own possession, a kingdom of priests and a holy nation."
