I would like the flat earthers to explain the seasons. That alone is proof the earth is round.

I know a few really nice people that believe the earth is flat. I have taken the time to listen to what they say. They make some compelling points. Personally I really dont think it matters if it is or isnt flat. But for the record ....the earth bulges slightly in the middle. And....science is real reagardless if one leans on the Newtonian model or not. The earth in my opinion is not flat.

Im not sure the FEers really care if their idea is true. It may be more akin to following a sports team in a city they’ve not lived in.

Flat Earthers should start a march to the end of the earth to see if they fall off . If they fall, then we'll listen !!

That was helpful.

I have studied into the flat earth theory some. Flat earthers believe the earth is both flat and round--that is, flat and round like a dinner plate.

The globe theory believes the earth is round like a ball.

Please, please, please...

It’s not about evidence. It’s about feeling special in the exclusive club of the convinced.

So flatearth, if you head in any direction in a straight line, tell me what happens when you get to the end of the earth?

I can look at the Moon and see the round shadow of earth cast upon it from the sunlight and that's all the proof I need regardless of what anyone has ever told me

believing: to have confidence in the truth, the existence, or the reliability of something, although without absolute proof that one is right in doing so.

Note from GoNC: a portion of this post was removed for trolling.

You believe what you like, I will do the same (thank you very much). You believe the world is round because someone told you so.

Lol @ goddess .... Yes!! It could and I was thinking the same thing the whole time to myself..... My separation of the two issues is this....
Without any regard to whether a particular religious beliefs are true or not, as long as they aren't destructive to the society around them (and yes, that statement is a Pandora's box), the benefit of religion is spirituality.....a necessary component to a healthy life.

Flat Earth, Bigfoot, moon landing, 911..... None of those are spiritual endeavors.... Just emotionally immature people, the mentally ill, and dudes who aren't getting laid enough or, more likely, getting laid at all.

Not much difference in my opinion Goddess.

"people who embrace craziness and deny evidence don't really care about the truth."

I know this is kinda steering the conversation of course, but couldn't that also apply to religion...

I agree with sparkling's assessment.... people who embrace craziness and deny evidence don't really care about the truth..... They are embracing the exhiliration of believing in something juicy and exciting....much akin to the emotional immaturity of a child who still wants to believe in Santa Claus when their gut is calling BS....I think it's a sign of either emotional immaturity, mental illness, or a combination of the two.....or they don't actually believe it at all but just like pretending they do.... Which I think is also a sign of emotional immaturity, mental illness, or a combination of the two.

There are groups why deny all sorts of things just to be nonconformist.

Denying the roundness of the earth is akin to denying the connection between gender and biology.
