ncarolinawilkes you are wrong, no one from CDO was offered a job in Mooresville, 15 CDO people went to Exceptions Dept and the rest had to step down to a call agent ins Sales, and yes as of 8/9 there will be no more Pro jobs, they too will go back to a call agent in sales or to QA......

False, false, and false.

after they empty the building that place would make a good bowling alley

Fishing pole, that is incorrect. Lowe's has several stores in Atlanta, home of Home Depot.

Soon the Wilkes Mall will look like the North Wilkesboro Speedway and the people in Wilkes will be sitting around for years looking for it to come back. What a shame, start a company, make it successful, turn it over to non-caring people that could have never got it going. Just a bunch of pointy-headed children moving into positions.

Wait and see that Call center is going down. Why would Lowes maintain that huge building for a Call Ctr?
Soon there will be nothing of Lowes in Wilkes except the store.

That's funny backwater they start their employees out at Wilkesboro at $11.50 hour.
They did on Friday close CDO Department and offered some of those employees Sales and Customer Care jobs. They also cut all the Pro jobs and kept a few of those people and offered them jobs elsewhere

This is false. All CDO employees were offered positions in Mooresville as well as moving assistance if needed. No Pro positions are being eliminated in Wilkes, in fact, they are being expanded. Wilkes is and will remain by far the largest Lowe's Customer Support Center out of the 4 in existence.

I asked about the accounting department because I've been looking at jobs, and saw that a different company had listed jobs for the accounting department at Lowes. I would drive to Mooresville for a good paying job, but not if it's going to be shut down and outsourced

Do y'all remember when the CEO of Lowes wanted to bring a better education to Wilkes County? So the Hillbilly Rednecks voted against better education and Lowes had to leave Wilkes to find people with education.WCC is having to give courses to most of the present day high school graduates to prepare them to get into a 4 year college!

The idea of a signed contract between the two is foolishness. Even if there was an agreement it woud never be in writing. The Feds woud have a field day. If there was any agreement, why does Lowes have stores in the Atlanta market?

So CEO Mr. Ellison is supposed to be at the Wilkesboro site having lunch today.
There was a contract with Lowes and Home Depot signed years ago that as long as the corporate office was in the home town they would not build on each other. So I am guessing since now all corporate jobs have moved to Mooresville that leaves the door open for Home Depot to move in??

after lowes corporate has 100% completely left wilkes, they will probably shut down the store here too as a final *&^%^ you.

it's the way the politically correct wind is blowing and lowe's has licked it's finger, stuck it in the air, and gone the direction of social progressiveness.. .....and that wind is blowing them straight to mooresville. It's only a matter of time before the only thing remaining will be the store.

wilkes will no longer be a welcoming place to Lowe's new diversified sensibilities.

Fishing pole, it’s apples to oranges. The Tech hub in Charlotte is for specifically IT. These are skilled, educated folks. The backbone of any large, modern business. They are VITAL or the business falls apart.

The pay you state, $11.50/hour in Wilkesboro, is the starting pay of the contact center. These are entry level jobs. No education needed. No real experience needed, either. Just pass a drug test and be capable of answering phones, talking, learning the business, show up on time, and be dependable. Very basic, low level, nonetheless, also very important.

Old Roy offered up $54 million state tax dollars toward the hiring of 2000 employees at the new facility in Charlotte.I believe the actual post said $117,000 per year was the pay.

But look on the BRIGHT Side:
Lowes will be sponsoring a float in the LG/B parade later in the month. If you want to go, Lowes will give you the day off with pay and a free tee-shirt.
