Some things in life suck. But it's temporary.

But, he IS your President.

The only thing I remember about Richard Nixon was his comment "I am not a crook" and the Watergate hearings.

In the 1980's my employer started to say, "we can't stay competitive in the marketplace if healthcare costs keep rising, in addition the employees need to take some responsibility to pay a portion of their plan."
They are still in business and still making profits.
It's a bit foolish to blame any one president for the lobbying success of big pharma.

I imagine state regulations have a hand in it too.

If every doc that wanted an MRI machine could go and get one, more would have them and the cost of a scan would be $50. Certificates of need have the effect of rationing services and driving prices up.

I bet the insurance companies and the pharmaceuticals could share some blame.

As well as some governors who threw their constituents under the bus.

In the '70s my deductible was zero.

In the '80s my deductible was zero.

Now, my deductible is more than a month of income.

I blame Barack Obama and, more recently, that bastid, John McCain.

I still like my health care.

But I feel sorry for people who don't.

I had great healthcare in the '70s and '80s.

Thank you, Presidents Nixon, Ford and Reagan.

(You too Jimmy C).

Nixon was a quitter.

No offense to Mr. Nixon and his lovely family.

Handy needs to check his sources better too. Nixon pushed for universal healthcare coverage. A lot of the parts of his plan was put into Obamacare.

The idea may have very well worked at the time while costs were still under control and both parties were willing to compromise.
